Dr Navin Erathnage
Dr Navin Erathnage is a highly experienced Procedural GP (Obstetrics) who has provided medical care in rural, regional and remote communities across Australia for more than 20 years.
After arriving in Australia in 2004, Dr Navin undertook further training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology while working in hospitals throughout Victoria. Over the years he has worked in Queensland, New South Wales, the Northern Territory and Western Australia, gaining extensive experience in emergency medicine, general practice, obstetrics and rural healthcare.
Recognising the need for accessible healthcare in regional communities, Dr Navin established Maitland Street Medical Centre in Narrabri in 2018. His vision was to provide high-quality, patient-centred healthcare close to home.
Dr Navin holds a Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) and is also a Fellow of the Australian College of Cosmetic Surgery and Medicine (FACCSM). He has undertaken additional training in Obstetrics, Dermatology, Dermoscopy, Paediatrics, Skin Cancer Medicine and Cosmetic Medicine.
With a background as a Senior Medical Officer in Emergency Departments across Australia, Dr Navin is experienced in managing a wide range of acute and chronic health conditions. He is passionate about preventative healthcare, early detection of skin cancer and providing comprehensive care for individuals and families at every stage of life.

Dr Nimashi
Dr Nimashi joined Maitland Street Medical Centre in 2026 and is committed to providing compassionate, patient-centred healthcare for individuals and families in the Narrabri community.
She enjoys working across all areas of general practice and values building long-term relationships with her patients. Dr Nimashi is passionate about preventative healthcare and supporting patients to achieve their best possible health outcomes.
Dr Nimashi welcomes new patients and looks forward to caring for the Narrabri community.
Nurse Julieanne
Nurse Julieanne is an experienced Practice Nurse who plays an important role in supporting patient care at Maitland Street Medical Centre.
She assists with immunisations, wound care, health assessments, chronic disease management and preventative health programs. Julieanne is dedicated to helping patients feel comfortable and supported throughout their healthcare journey.

Our friendly reception team, Lacinda and Geanine, are often the first people you’ll speak with when contacting Maitland Street Medical Centre.
They assist with appointments, patient enquiries, recalls, referrals and day-to-day administration, helping ensure our practice runs smoothly and efficiently.
